What is a doula?
A doula accompanies a laboring woman to insure a
satisfying birth experience. A doula draws on knowledge
and experience to provide emotional and physical support
of the mother and open communication and partnership
with the mother’s companion and medical care providers.
A doula will reassure a laboring mother by providing
direction and perspective to her and her labor companion.
A doula stays with the mother throughout the entire birth
experience and will help with relaxation, massage,
positioning and other comfort measures.  A doula
understands that each woman’s birth wishes are individual
and strives to help each mother achieve her dream birth!
